LEDLighting Facts will resume acceptance of LED lighting products today, under the
direction of D+R International, the implementer of the program since its
inception. The simple “truth-in-advertising” labeling program provides
consumers with the assurance that the performance of their LED lighting
products has been independently verified and that they have an easy in-store
and online tool to compare LED lighting products and manufacturers.
What Does This Mean?
l Continued free access to the website and searchable product database.
l Continued commitment to “Just the Facts” about LED lighting products, independently verified, with no pre-set performance requirements, allowing you to filter your own searches.
l Welcoming back LED lamps—for all new product listing and labels, as well as searchable on the product database!
l All products listed and labeled, as well as the listing as an Approved Lab, will continue to be free during May. In June, we will introduce a flexible and affordable product listing maintenance subscription service that includes options for monthly or annual payment plans, as well as a nominal annual fee for accredited testing lab facilities to participate on the Approved Lab list.l Continued commitment to maintaining ease-of-use, high level of accuracy, and listening to your needs!
Overview of LED Lighting Facts Subscription Plan Options:
For Manufacturers: The new LED Lighting Facts subscription pricing model allows for manufacturers to plan and budget their participation. The flexible payment options allow for a “pay-as-you-go” monthly fee, or a single pre-payment for a 12-month cycle at a selected pricing level.
• Pay-As-You-Go: The subscriptions are based on the cumulative number of products that are added under a manufacturer’s account over time. You only pay the monthly fee associated with the total number of approved products you have listed. There is no contract, no commitment....just a monthly recurring fee as long as you have active product listings.
• Pre-Pay for 12-months: This subscription allows you to select one of the pricing levels and pre-pay for the 12-month period, at a discount (up to $740!). With this option, the highest level gives you unlimited listing capacity for less than 10 cents per product if you have more than 1,000 products listed!
• Legacy Products: The subscription fees will initially apply to new products approved after June 1. There will be a 6-month grace period for all “Legacy Products” currently in the product database
(including all products approved in May). At that point, manufacturers will have the option to select the products in their portfolio that they want to maintain listing status for a reduced listing fee. Any products that are not selected will be removed from the active product database.
